The experience I gained from being a part of the PVC Club was one that I will never forget. The friendships I made and the skills I learned will stay with me for a lifetime. The coaches all dedicated so much time and energy as they pushed me to my absolute limits. They helped prepare me for the next level, college. Practices were always intense and I always left knowing that even though it was tough, it was going to make me better. Sure enough, all of those countless tournaments and tiring practices were worth it! When I went on to college I was prepared and I felt it too. I'm very grateful for all the encouragement, memories and skills that the coaches shared with me. Go PVC!!!

I often look back on my pre-college years and think about how lucky I am to be playing volleyball at Elon. There are a few key events or should I say a few turns in the road that lead me to my current destination. Once I became interested in volleyball someone referred me to PVC which was my first step in the right direction. I played 4 years of club volleyball, all at PVC and I can honestly say it changed my life. Knowing very little about volleyball and club teams when I first began playing, I admit I got lucky in choosing to play for PVC. But it became very obvious that I had made a great decision. I owe a great deal of thanks to my coaches and teammates for constantly pushing me to improve, for their advice, companionship and support throughout my seasons. My skills improved dramatically over my 4 years at PVC due to the club's focus on proper skills and very innovative training methods used to teach them. Training sessions were both mentally and physically intense, but I still had a fun experience playing and developed some great friendships along the way. The club atmosphere at PVC was actually very similar to that of playing in college which made the transition easier for me. Playing for PVC required a great deal of dedication, teamwork, patience and hard work but has paid off not only on the volleyball court but in my day to day life and will be an experience I carry with me forever.

I switched to Piedmont Volleyball Club for my 17s year. It was such a great decision because the level of training and the knowledge of the coaching staff are better than anywhere else I had previously played. The training sessions are intense and definitely prepared me to play collegiate volleyball. However, you get from practice whatever you put into it, so have a good attitude! Remember: you love the sport, and in order to do well in matches you must prepare. “Most people have the will to win; few have the will to PREPARE to win.” –Bobby Knight. I would strongly recommend becoming a member of PVC to anyone looking to improve their volleyball skills and especially to those who want to become good enough to earn a scholarship and play in college. These coaches would do anything in their power for their team, including helping you get recruited and earn a scholarship. I switched clubs for my 17s year and drove an hour and a half almost every weekend to practice. It was obviously worth it, because I continued to do that the next year. Some teammates drove 3 hours for the weekend training sessions! It is a great atmosphere at Piedmont because we have fun and work hard. I made lifelong friends at this club and had an overall wonderful experience at Piedmont Volleyball Club. PIED-WHAT? PIEDMONT!

First let me say that we do not live in Greensboro. We live in Lumber Bridge, which is a small town southwest of Fayetteville. It takes us 2 1/2 hours to drive from Lumber Bridge to Greensboro. I am a stay-at-home mom and my husband owns a small boat repair business. We spend approximately $960 at month is gas, food, and motel rooms in order for our daughter to practice, train and play with the PTVC. We are by no means wealthy, but we believe in this program so much and it proved to be worth the investment we made financially and with our time.
My daughter's dream is to play college volleyball. Kelsey is a natural athlete but we knew that if she was to see this dream come true then we would have to find training that would help elevate her to that level. We were introduced to the Piedmont Volleyball Club by some friends whose daughter currently plays college ball. The Piedmont team opened up a whole new world for Kelsey. Kelsey was playing on the high school varsity volleyball team at a private Christian school. At Piedmont she was now competing in much faster and more powerful matches which improved her game tremendously. The outstanding coaching of Blaine Tendler and his coaching staff helped us to understand what colleges are looking for in a player, not only for what kind of athlete they are, but what kind of a person/student they are. Coach Tendler emphasized academics first and foremost. He encouraged the parents to let the athlete be the one to communicate concerns between them and the coaches so that they would become more relaxed and better skilled at communicating with recruiters. Also, because of the high level of training and the encouragement of the coaches at PVC, Kelsey became a better trained athlete which only increased her self-esteem. She has been to towns and different states that she has never been to before, has been seen by college recruiters all over the different tournament areas and developed close-knit bonds with not only her teammates but the girls from the some of the other different teams at PVC. In her first year playing with PVC, she made the Carolina Regional Championships 16 Platinum All Tournament team.
The day that the first letter of interest from a college coach arrived at our house was one of the greatest memories for me as a parent. I can't find the words to describe the look on my daughter's face when she realized that she was another step closer to realizing her dream. We are so grateful for everything that Coach Tendler, Coach Trevor Hewitt, and the PVC has done for Kelsey.
