Saturday, September 4th--Start your Labor Day weekend with GBVB (Leonard Rec, Greensboro)

For Sept. 4:
MEN'S/COED DIVISIONS WILL PLAY!!!
WOMEN'S DIVISIONS CANCELED. 

Be reminded that prize money/values will be lower than usual, however.
STILL ACCEPTING ENTRIES IN MEN'S/COED DIVISIONS ONLY.

Registration:  8:00 - 8:45 AM (*walk-ups welcome)

Pool Play:  9:00 AM (ideally:)

Early registration cost:  $25 before 6 PM on Friday before tournament (register on-line, pay at field)

*Late/walk-up registration cost:  $30 after 6 PM on Friday before tournament (can still register on-line, pay at field)

OPEN Divisions will receive CASH money.

ALL OTHER Divisions will receive PRIZES of increasing **value (1st more than 2nd, A more than BB).

Next tournament dates are scheduled to be:

Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010--GRASS Men's/Women's/Jrs' doubles (Open/A/BB/Jrs) 

Please note that divisions may be combined if fewer than 4 teams are registered in a division.  If at least 2 teams are registered in that division, however, they will be placed in the nearest division for pool play BUT will have their own play-off bracket.  If 2 teams, they will play in a final.  If 3 teams, they will play in a semi (#2 v #3) and a final (#1 v winner #2/#3).

Ø  No Alcohol (park rules)

Ø  No Smoking (park rules)

Ø  Honor Calls Are Expected

Ø  One Toss Allowed On The Serve

Ø  Foot Digs Are Allowed

Ø  A Block Counts As a Hit  

Ø  No Cleats / Turf Shoes are okay

Ø  No Attacking a Serve

Ø  Players may not enter Other Courts Unless Play Has Ended There For The Day

Ø  No Open Hand Dinks

Ø  No Hand Sets Over The Net

Ø  No Hand Sets Allowed On Any 1^st Ball Over (Beach Digs Are Okay)

Ø  Hard Driven Balls may be Doubled on the First Contact Except on Serve Receive.

Ø  Let Serves Count / Continue Play on Let Serves (if the serve hits the net and comes over, it is good)

Ø  If the Line Moves, the Ball is in.

Ø  A Third Place Player from Each Pool must stay to Ref the Playoffs. Check with a Tournament Director Before Leaving.

COED DIVISION RULES COMING SOON...

JUNIOR DIVISION DIFFERENCES

Ø  Hand Sets are Allowed On Any 1^st Ball Over Including Service Receive

Ø  Any 1^st ball over, including serves, may be Doubled (but not lifted)

Pool Play 

4 team pools play 3 games to 19 / Cap at 21 / Switch on 7 / 2 teams advance

5 team pools play 2 games to 21 / Cap at 23 /  Switch on 10 / 2 teams advance

6 team pools play 2 games to 19 / Cap at 21 / Switch on 7 / 3 teams advance

7 team pools play 2 games to 19 / Cap at 21 / Switch on 7 / 4 teams advance

In Divisions with only 4 or 5 teams, top 3 teams will advance for playoffs.

Ties to advance out of pool will be determined by one game to 25 / no cap / switch on 10.

Finals and Playoffs

All Playoff matches except the Semis will be one game to 25 / Switch on 10.  No cap.

SemiFinals will be 2 out of 3 games to 21.  Switch on 7.  No cap.  Any other format must be agreed upon by all semi-final teams in all pools of that division and the Tournament Director.

Unless otherwise agreed upon by all participants or otherwise determined by a Tournament Director, all Finals will be 2 out of 3 games to 21.  No cap.
