Kerry Wooten
Wooten enters her second season as a coach for Piedmont VBC. She is a first year grad student at UNCG after completing her BA in Spanish in May 2008 from Furman University where she played volleyball all four years. As a middle blocker for the Paladins, she finished her career as the #1 block assist leader in Furman history and #3 in total blocks. In addition, Furman consistently led the Southern Conference in blocks per game, including 3.2 blocks per game during the 2007 season. Wooten has spent her summers during college coaching volleyball camps for Furman, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, and assisting at Starmount High School.
Wooten played at Starmount High School in Boonville, NC where she was named 2 time all conference, 2 time SHS athlete of the year, 2003-04 Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee, conference player of the year and state championship MVP in 2003. She was also all conference in basketball and track and field. She played her club volleyball for Yadkin Valley Volleyball Club throughout middle and high school.
