To Sportsplex Participants;
This notice provides clarification on recent stories that were circulating about the Greensboro Sportsplex. During the City's budget presentations information about closing the Sportsplex to daily City operations are being reviewed. However, what’s important to note, is that the City will continue to operate the facility for special events and tournaments, which involve outside contractors and vendors.
Under this scenario, the Sportsplex would not be open for drop-in or some Parks and Recreation programs. The City is also continuing to explore privatizing the facility.
ADULT USAV 2011-2012 TOURNAMENTS

Greensboro Sportsplex will host several Friendship tournaments during the month of November (see below).

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2011: Men's 6s/Women's 6s
captain's meeting at 8:45 AM (cost $100/team)
Divisions: at this time, we do not plan to have divisions; however, please specify if your team is a GOLD, HIGH SILVER, LOW SILVER, or BRONZE team
Times: Captain's meeting at 8:45 AM; pool play begins around 9
Format: top teams after pool play continue into a single-elimination tournament
(number of teams to come out is based on number of teams in pool/tournament)
Cost: M/W $100
Payment: pay with cash, charge or check (made to City of Greensboro) when you
arrive on tournament day (one payment per team please)

Other: matching uniforms are not necessary, but players should have a shirt with
some type of number on it. Teams will be required to provide 6 people on their work
team: 2 referees with whistles (R1, R2), 2 linejudges, a score flipper, a
bookkeeper. We will not require a libero tracker (although for normal USAV
tournaments you must provide a libero tracker as well)

Please note that the Greensboro Sportsplex is simply the HOST FACILITY for most of the Carolina Region Adult Volleyball events. We simply provide the courts and the tournament directors. We are not responsible for pool formats, seeding, scheduling, etc.
If you have questions, PRIOR TO the day of the tournament or would like to register your team for a USAV adult tournament, you must contact the Carolina Region at www.carolinaregionvb.org.
