To Sportsplex Participants;
This notice provides clarification on recent stories that were circulating about the Greensboro Sportsplex. During the City's budget presentations information about closing the Sportsplex to daily City operations are being reviewed. However, what’s important to note, is that the City will continue to operate the facility for special events and tournaments, which involve outside contractors and vendors.
Under this scenario, the Sportsplex would not be open for drop-in or some Parks and Recreation programs. The City is also continuing to explore privatizing the facility.
SVC Families and Coaches:
As you are all aware, most of the SVC teams' season will come to an end with participation in Region Championships on Saturdays March 23 (12s, 17s, 18s) and April 6 (13s, 14s, 15s). The end of the SVC training and the beginning of the summer camp season is considerable, so as we did last season, SVC will once again offer our Spring Training Program.
Spring Training Program will afford everyone the opportunity to continue training with SVC coaches from April 16 - May 23. This six-week program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Spring Training will continue what you have come to expect from the training here at the Sportsplex: physical conditioning, individual skill development, position-specific training, component- and game-training. SVC Spring Training will be coached by SVC coaches, and is open to SVC players and other local athletes whose club seasons have concluded.
We are still in the process of getting a pricing structure in place and will have that information out to you in an email, as well as posted to our website, www.teamsportsplex.com, later this week.
I want to thank you all for choosing SVC as your volleyball club, and to know that we as a coaching staff have really enjoyed the opportunity to work with your daughters this season. I hope that the club experience has been a positive one and that we will see many of you continue your volleyball training with SVC in the Spring Training Program.
Thank you,
Trevor Hewitt, Volleyball Director
SVC Families:
We will begin collecting the final club dues (the February payment) this week. To those of you who have turned in your dues already, thank you, and please disregard this email. Shauna and I will also get in contact with those who have yet to submit your January dues as well.
Thanks, and we will see you tonight.

I came across a resource site for USAV refereeing that may be helpful as a refresher and for general information.
I believe some of this site is used for the USAV online referee and scorekeeper recertification, and that free accounts can be created to access some of this material, along with the material that is posted in the free sections.
If you’d like, please check out http://www.volleyballreftraining.com. I think this is a great site for our players, coaches, and parents.
Thanks, and have a great weekend.

If you have not already done so, please designate Sportsplex Volleyball Club as your club for the 2012-2013 season on the membership information page in your USAV account. There is a drop-down box on this page that will list all of the eligible clubs in the Carolina Region for the 2012-2013 season. This will allow us to pull your information from the USAV Webpoint database, print off membership cards for our coaches’ packets and help with easily registering for club tournaments.
We have submitted our club information—players, coaches, team names, etc—to the region office for processing and this should take a few days.
To login to your USAV account please visit: https://webpoint.usavolleyball.org/wp15/IntraLock/Login.asp
Thanks, and we will see you all tomorrow evening.
